Please step back and lose yourself of sensibilities. Now step back in and enjoy this world of misfitted creatures. Marleen's love of animals, botanicals, and everything whimsical is the foundation of her clay sculptures.
A ceramic artist since 2003, Greg currently creates sculptures in ceramic, steel, and occasionally wood. His pieces range from tall pillars clad with glazed ceramic relief carvings to small tabletop works. He also creates colorful glazed ceramic wall murals and individual art tiles. He uses a robust clay body with low moisture absorption which is able to withstand weather extremes, making much of his work suitable for outdoor placement. He loves to explore the natural world of animals, birds, insects, and plant forms in his clay work, very often combined with a variety of abstract shapes and designs. He is not drawn to realism, but rather finds joy in creating forms that are more symbolic. He is specially interested in incorporating his art into the public space.
All forms of art fascinate Cecil. He began his journey as an artist carving wood and soon realized that it would be difficult to produce enough pieces to make a living. Cecil then decided to experiment with clay. For the next forty years he created functional and art pieces which were sold at galleries and art shows throughout the Midwest. Now that Cecil is retired, he enjoys designing pieces that are quirky and unique.
Gili is an artist, art director and designer working in Lafayette, CO. Her work uses flat graphic forms, patterns, abstract line work and dopamine colors to evoke a visceral, joyful response. Her practice spans across illustration, design, art direction and fine art. Somewhat inevitably, her work is strongly influenced by graphic design; her abstract, but flat and vibrant forms are graphic in their presentation and at times used in combination with stylized type. But the real focus is on the use of color, which is usually quite bright, and often in unexpected combinations that evoke a sense of joy and curiosity in a visceral way.
Previously a nurse and social worker, Rebecca is now a full-time artist, writer, and gallery owner. 100% a self-taught, her art is heavily influenced by big sky, misty coastlines & cottage gardens. She hopes her paintings instill tranquility–juxtaposing the harsh angles of our world with welcomed transcendence. Stop by her studio, The Hearth, at 203 E Simpson Street in Old Town Lafayette, CO to meet her and learn more about her process.
Hi I’m Jonathan. I love RECORDS. Turntables. Equalizers. Speakers. I love MUSIC. Thrift Shops. Recycled stuff. And vintage POP CULTURE. I wanted to make tributes to the things I love, so in 2014, the journey of HIFI JONES began. Images are discovered in dusty and discarded LPs and books. They are manipulated and REMIXED in the digital realm and then brought into an analog reality on recycled paper and substrate. 99.9% of what I make my art with is reclaimed. Ok, maybe 97.4%. What am I? A statistician?
Holly does a lot of different things, but her current love is making acrylic pour jewelry. Each piece is a tiny original painting under glass. The laws of fluid dynamics play a role, so there is an element of randomness within the creative process. When she pours, she never knows what she will get! Then she takes that chaos and creates unique designs. Sometimes they look like exotic stones, others like alien planets. Very fun!
When it comes to painting, Linda has two distinct personalities. She has always loved creating art that represents the world that people would easily recognize and identify. On the other hand, she has become addicted to abstract art. Her abstract work is a representation of the way she sees the world in shapes, colors and energy flow. These pieces happen on the canvas sometimes with seemingly no input from her and other times, they are planned and purposeful. This mimics her life in many ways. She is organized and logical (representational art) and had a long and successful career as a corporate accountant, but she loves a good adventure!
Ellen works in pastel and in watercolor, sometimes combining the two, in images that convey a sense of the land in Colorado. In watercolor she expresses the fluidity of a land in flux, as it is changed and shaped by people. Ellen's pastel work expresses the vibrancy of what surrounds us - grasses, mountains, fields and rivers. Ellen's goal is to have her paintings create a sense of place that is familiar feeling, and yet a uniquely personal look at the world.

Erin Doubenmier is a Lafayette-based illustrator and cartoonist. Her medium of choice is India ink, but she also enjoys using watercolor crayon and acrylic paint. Showcasing a vibrant leaning with bold contrasts and process-minded line work, dozens of layered color applications are methodically blended and then finalized with a subtle capstone hue. Although some of the work requires an objective reference, the majority of the renderings are drawn directly from her mind. Her work’s subject matter borders on social commentary, drawing inspiration from animals, childhood, and ever-evolving interpersonal dynamics.
Kristen Law Lewis was bitten by the book-bug in the last semester of her undergrad Studio Art studies at University of Colorado. She’s made all kinds of books since - founding Papercuts Press in 2005. She later pursued artifact conservation, a second love, and earned a degree in Museum Studies. Kristen mixes her time between sculpture, bookmaking, teaching, and caring for museum collections. "My work is largely driven by materials and process. I love the challenge of physically incorporating something special into what I make. Upcycling, repurposing, and reducing waste are key interests in my studio practice. I think a lot about where things come from, and where they are going. I'm enamored with material objects - modifying their past significance to construct a relevance for them today."

Before Meghan was born, her dad dabbled in stained glass and owned a bar called the Tiffany Inn, filled with beautiful Tiffany glass pieces. Her desire to learn has existed for years, and she finally dove in this past December. She was in love at first cut. She spends every moment available in the studio playing and creating. Each pattern is an exciting journey, from choosing the color palette to the final polishing. She has fun making small pieces and suncatchers, but is working towards larger pieces inspired by her memories of the beautiful windows belonging to her father. She is grateful to have found this new passion and to call herself an artist.
Leslie is a silversmith working in sterling, 18 caret gold and semi precious stones. All her work is hand wrought and one of a kind. She loves her work to look like SOMEONE made it....the hand of the artist is apparent in every piece. Her work has been described as Urban Chic, Ethnic, and a little on the steampunk side.

Cynthia creates collage figures from old postage stamps. Creations of color, light and shadow, when viewed up close, become a study in philosophy, religion, geography, history and literature. Every stamp tells a story. Her current project is to create the images of the Major Arcana of the Tarot, like The Fool and The High Priestess.
Alexis enjoys bright colors and anything cheery. Her positive view of the world can be found in her acrylic and watercolor pieces.

Knotty Knots is the brainchild of Kate Elvin who’s a graphic artist by day and a wizard with a crochet hook by night. She began expressing herself through yarn a few years ago after casually mentioning to her husband that she had always wanted to learn to crochet. Since then, she’s created countless bunnies, zebras, monsters of all types as well as sea creatures and custom creations. As if that’s not enough, she began making her own doggie bow ties after a search for the perfect canine accessory turned up nothing. Stop by and take a look. You’ll find it hard to say no and you’ll likely end up with one of her adorable little gems in your arms while your furry little companion struts around in the most dapper of adornments.

Barb has always loved jewelry. So it’s no surprise she chose to create one of a kind sterling pieces some designed with semi precious stones and accent metals. Her designs sometimes are dictated by the stones she uses or just an idea, a shape, or a new class project. She loves trying new ideas and working with custom pieces and the people who want them.

My love for gemstones & vintage started when I was very young. Antiquing and yardsaling with my mom was like true treasure hunting. Discovering and imagining the stories behind these funds was such apart of the fascination. Bringing these items home and working them into my everyday became my way of expressing myself. Jewelry became the perfect way for me to finish any look. I began deconstructing and reimagining vintage and antique jewelry which lead to my interest in gemstones and the energy they bring, much like the stories vintage finds can tell. Today this love of hand-picking stand out items, and making unique jewelry that can have, hold and tell stories is the foundation of my work. It allows me to handcraft unique and true jewelry pieces. My jewelry continues to evolve and has grown organically to incorporate vintage into the brand. My promise to myself and to you is to continue to evolve while remaining true to my passion for creating items that come from love and honesty while using unique materials that result in truly one-of-a-kind treasures.
